Black RainbowBlack Rainbow by J.J. McAvoy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

#RuthlessPeople was a hurricane for me, with those ruthless and bold characters, J.J.McAvoy is a wonderful author and a favourite of mine as well.

So, a few days back when I came to know about this #BlackRainbow, you cannot expect me to resist myself right?

#BlackRainbow was totally different from her criminal genre which J.J.McAvoy is soo good at, but this was a masterpiece in itself with #LeviBlack and #TheaCunning. It's a story about Truth, Love, Trust and Power, Power can make you stand out; Power can make you go dizzy with high that is so good and make people envious of you.

It's all about trust that you show on your loved ones, but trust; that comes only when that person has earned it and you have shown them that they are worth it. How Thea and Levi fights in a court is an art in itself. How they are a power couple can make you feel envious of their chemistry and intelligence. Their forbidden love, secrets that can destroy their surrounding, steam rising from their intimacy and how conversation between you and your loved one matters not only the intimacy will create hell in your love life after reading this because am sure you would crave all these that Levi and Thea has.

5 steamy and powerful stars for these two bombs!!!

Seeking A Bliss

Lust is what I thought chemistry is. A sizzling, invisible connection between two people, making you yearn for each other. I thought chemistry is what it takes for a relation to work, to give it a life.

That never getting enough feeling.
That temptation of being around each other...
Drowning all the sorrows, all those imperfections even just for a minute is a great relief.
You don't have to think about it, you don't have to take care of each other, you don't have to bother about future...

Yeah that's what lust is, making everything exciting and soul gripping in those moments of being together.
What comes after is the problem... A problem with no end, a problem with so many possibilities but not a single meaning to it.

You want to feel his presence, you want to get pampered, not merely through material things but with those emotions and feelings he brings in your life. A feeling of belonging to someone: not as a possession but as a treasure.

You want to spoil him with your stupid girliness because come on, being a boyfriend comes with those statutory warning 😜. You wanna fret around him with those silly "How Much Do You Love Me?" Questions. You want to take care of him, even though he is the one you depend on emotionally. He is the strong one in your relationship but you are the one holding it all together with your stupid tantrums everyday which never makes a day dull enough.

THIS is what I thought it would turn out to be...
THIS is what I was waiting for it to be...
But I was sadly mistaken between Lust and Love, Chemistry and Attraction.

You know what Bliss is???
When your Lust, Chemistry, Attraction, and Love is found in one person.
That is what makes it worth...
That is what make that breathtakingly insatiable hunger within you burn like a volcano.

Book Review of Eighteen By J.A.Huss

Eighteen (18)Eighteen by J.A. Huss
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A smart girl, a genius teacher: perfect recipe for a Taboo escapades!!!

But it is much more than that... J.A.Huss made the most boring Math and Trigonometry feel like an exciting subject through Eighteen!!!

I have read #Follow by her and it was not that interesting for me but Mateo and Shannon were Fantastic!

"Are you my problem, Mateo? Or my Answer?"

"I don't just want the solution, I need the process."

These are my favorite lines from this book. And I love how Shannon stands for herself while not giving a flying fuck about how she gets there but everything changes when Mateo forced her to learn how to earn those results and it makes much more sense.

Sadly, I would have loved to read further about Mateo and Shannon and don't forget Sunday!!!! The famous Daniel Alexander demands his own time and I think he deserves that.

Let Me Tell You About S.O.A.R (Success Over Adversity Reigns)- Written By Abir Mukherjee

“Best friends are people who make your problems their problems, just so you don’t have to go through them alone.”

This is a story about how certain situations in your life and your reaction towards it will either make or break you.

This book is an example of friendship, belief, determination and an inkling of your dream. When someone else’s dream becomes your, when you trust their belief upon rules and regulations, you create a masterpiece.

Abir Mukherjee portrayed this story about 3 friends; who endorsed a dream, sweat blood, created an obstacle which is what ‘Adversity’ refers to; an adversity where they sacrificed relationships but managed to overcome this ‘Reign’ just because of their friendship and dedication towards each other.

This is a story of Uday, Adhyayan, and Rajasekaran! Who takes you to a rollercoaster ride of their life. Let me introduce you to them from my POV:

Uday

A Cocky, Broody, Driven, Irritating, Single-Minded and a bit frustrating at times, who is a leader in this story of fighting against all odds. He lives and breathes his dream of breaking the cycle of 9 to 5 job by entering into the world of entrepreneur with a business idea to help society while reaping monetary gains as well.

Adhyayan

Adi: as they call him, is the most clueless person I have ever seen! He doesn’t have a negative bone in his body but when it comes to understanding her wife; Shristi, he is useless! Adi is a wonderful friend, who is always torn between his work, friends, and wife because he wants to bring justice to everything and everyone in his life.

Rajasekaran

Raja is my favourite character from this book! He is intelligent, funny, dedicated and straight forward in his emotions towards the love of his life: Sneha! Even though he belongs to a narrow-minded family, he loves freely: without any inhibitions towards Sneha’s lifestyle which is 360 degree opposite of Raja. I love him!!!

What I loved!

“Okay, then call me when you will be upset again. I know everyone will be with you in happy and good moments.”

Raja won my heart with these words and I loved funny conversations between Raja and Sneha! So, Abir Mukherjee did a wonderful job of mixing humour, emotions, family drama, passion for work, intelligence, and making this story an interesting read for us!

I finished this book in a one go, so it was that interesting for me because of the unique title; which I might add could not be better for the story.

My favourite part of the book was when both friends of Uday comes running back to him in need, even though he was cocky, he needed them and his friends knew him enough. Being always there for you may not be possible for many, but those who are always there when in need are gems; gems to be preserved.

There are many good points in this book to admire like:

Editor Sharanya Bhattacharya has done a wonderful job, while +Abir Mukherji has given birth to this unique story, plot and characterization, it won’t be a good read if it was full of edit fiascos which makes it a pleasant and easy read.

This story has Humour, Maturity, Interesting characters, and not a Love Story which still managed to grasp reader’s attention just because it helps you relate to their characters; makes you dream, rise and fall with them.

A Little Hitch

Book is in a Multiple POV’s which has a room for improvement due to the confusion it creates while jumping from one person to another frequently within a chapter. At times, I needed to re-read the words just to confirm whose thoughts are these.

My Personal Experience

“Our success and career are meaningless without the people who care about us.”

At the end of the day, you need a companion; you need your loved ones happy around you and not only in the monetary form but by being happy yourself.

This book is not based on any philosophy or any spiritual meaning waiting to be unearthed by readers, it is a simple read based on situations which may or may not be experienced by you till now, but can help you if so…

So, give it a read on any dull day of your life and you are guaranteed to feel motivated for your dreams, goals, future and if not all these then atleast a good laugh!

About the Author

Successfully reaching to his readers with his second book, S.O.A.R (Success Over Adversity Reigns) +Abir Mukherji is an IT professional currently based in U.S.A. who is an artist through and through as sketching and writing is what he loves to do.

As I said earlier, this author is interested in entertaining his readers rather than preaching about how and what to do in your life. You read, you laugh, you cry with these characters but there’s no hidden agenda behind his words except a hell of a ride in their journey of life.

His style of writing is matured and a little informal to make you feel comfortable, which is perfectly suitable for the audience his book is seeking towards.

His debut novel: ‘As Life Has No Undo’ is yet to be read by me but S.O.A.R has managed to make me curious enough to give it a go for once!

Thanks for this review copy of S.O.A.R +Abir Mukherji, am looking forward to read your future works!

Book Review Of Pucked- written by Helena Hunting

Pucked (Pucked, #1)Pucked by Helena Hunting
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Snuffie & Beaver will make you ROFL that's for sure!!!

Pucked is an awesome, humorous read which will make your stomach hurt from laughing in the middle of work when you remember one of those conversation between Violet Hall & Alex Waters.

And Boy. Oh Boy! the names used by +Helena Hunting are hell of a ride in humor land. Randall Balls, Dick, Cockburn and what not!

Okay getting back to Pucked, it's all about hot Hockey Player and a weird, humorous and a very darling Accountant who lives with her Mum and Stepdad who are even crazier that her. Trying not to become a Puck Bunny, Violet meets Alex and they click through intellectual level which takes only a minute to get down to business.

Being Evasive and outright negating something are two different things which is the base of this story and how this situation is formed around these two crazy and weird person is hilarious in their own way.

+Helena Hunting did a good work with Pucked, this was my first read of this Author and I must say if they are even 50% this entertaining, am gonna scarf them down soon!

Chocolates, Flowers, Candies, Innuendos, Beavers, MC, and many more little things will make your life lively with this one!

Breaking Him by R.K.Liley

Breaking Him (Love is War, #1)+Breaking Him by R.K. Lilley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I felt like punching someone's gut out just like Scarlett feels when she looks at Tiffany!!!

+R.K. Lilley, you did it once again!!! #UpInTheAir #Tristan&Danika #TheWildSide why did I expected anything else from you??? You love to torture your readers as your characters do!!!

How much time do I wait till I get my hands on #BreakingHer now???

Okay now lets get back to #BreakingHim
A wild ride with Dante & Scarlett and as their name suggests, they are what complete each other. It shows how impractical it is for us to think that we can stop loving your soulmate, a mate who compliments you in every nature, who work with your edges, who make you a sword while holding back your little vulnerable heart. A heart that belongs to him only, no matter how much you hate him, despise him, but you just can't keep your facade when it comes to him long enough.

A soul gripping ride, with soo much suspense!!! Making you itch to peel every layer fast enough to satiate the hunger R.K.Liley introduced you to.

I lovedddd it!!! Am dying to get #BreakingHer

My Take On 'Raze (Scarred Souls)' by Tillie Cole

Raze (Scarred Souls, #1)Raze by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am a big fan of Tillie Cole's work since I read "It Ain't Me Babe (Hades Hangmen Series)". I would say I love her capability of reaching into the darkest possible place inside a human being and present it to her readers phenomenally!
Now, #Raze brought Luka/818/Raze and Kisa-Anna to me and it was a dark and painful journey for me due to the graphical description done wonderfully. The love and bond they share is what every human being crave in this world. They were soulmates, separated by situations but never away from their soul which was connected on a higher level.
It shows how a grief makes you numb and let you become stronger just because one day you'll get your chance to prove what you are and what you can do. It shows how having faith must be painful but necessary for us, as it gives you a tiny bit of light in worst conditions.

I'll give 5 brutal and consuming stars to this book of Tillie Cole and looking forward to #Reap (Scarred Souls Series).

Book Review of ‘Hey Dad! Meet My Mom’ – Sandeep Sharma & Leepi Agrawal

“Everything you see is a perspective, not the truth and just because it’s ‘all in your head’ doesn't make it any less real.”

It’s an illusion all right, created just for you to feel better when things are out of control and you are trying to hold on. It makes life easy and manageable, even though subconsciously; you know that there’s something wrong with the situation but you don’t want to delve further; scared of what actually it is.

‘Hey Dad! Meet My Mom’ is a masterpiece in itself. I don’t want to talk about the story here because I want you to sense the intimacy Roshni, Puneet and Myra possess personally but I would like to tell you about who they are for sure;

Myra

“You know when we feel afraid of something that is not physical like for instance love, care, taking responsibilities in our case; we give these fears a physical face.”

This is Myra, a Bubble Guppy in #HDM3 who paints the world red for Puneet, you see he thinks “Red is a very strange colour, it gets noticed by men only after they fall in love.” So I think you all got my point? She was not only there physically but a strong emotional pillar for Puneet when he was in another world; a world full of pain and deception. She was not an easy person to get rid of mind you but she is what gave redemption to Puneet in her own manner.

Puneet

A mumma’s boy trying to make sense of his life at 30, a life which is confusing him to no end and forcing him to succumb to his sub-conscious mind which shows how a possibility of something can encourage us for a memory and it becomes your living dream inside you.
A little man knocking him over now and then with his creepy talks and maturity level of a saint! Yes everyone this is Rishi am talking about who is on a mission. You need to find that by reading this book please.

Roshni

What do I tell you about her? Selfless, Strong, Sublime, Self-ruling and Stalwart is what Roshni is. She loved everyone fiercely and abandonment was never in her veins, even when she was on the verge of getting bankrupt. Her love for children was shining throughout the journey of #HDM3, and what happened to her was ruthless. Still, she was the stronger one amongst her and Puneet when all hell broke and they got separated. Her determination was so strong that medicine, theories and history had to bow down to her and brought Puneet where he belonged.

That is what LOVE is…

It is said that your subconscious is 30000 times more powerful than your conscious mind and this book makes you believe it. The way Roshni and Puneet were connected; with no logic and proof, they attained the impossible (atleast in medicine world). Roshni’s sheer determination and her love for Puneet, brought him back to life; a life which was suppressed by his own uncle in the name of helping him with the situation.
The short term pain of accepting the truth is much better than the long term pain of believing an illusion which Puneet lived for a decade.

Author’s Work:

Hmm Sandeep Sharma & Leepi Agrawal, I never expected this type of storyline from Indie Authors that’s for sure so you can imagine the surprise I felt in 2nd part of #HDM3 where Roshni’s story is revealed. The plot reminded me a work of Aleatha Romig, who is a pro at suspense! (Do read her work in #Consequences please and you’ll get my point). Characterization is powerful and justice was served to all of them by this duo.

What Made It Difficult:

Given as a ‘Review Copy’ by Sandeep Sharma I would say it didn’t had that appeal in the beginning chapters, to be true I kept on reading because I needed to review it, but Oh Boy! This duo took a U-Turn and brought goodies for a suspense & twist sucker like me halfway through the book! It is full of bollywood type comedy as some dialogues are typical bollywood and made me roll my eyes for sure.

Impact on my life:

“Secrets are like rust on a relationship. They only make it lose its strength.”

I am a firm believer in TRUTH, I want the truth no matter what situation it is or how critical the truth will prove to be. A lie, an omission will always come back and poke you through that veil you have strategically created to hide the truth and that will hurt like a bitch no matter how long it’s been.

“Accept changes quickly. Time will flow away and you have to flow with the stream to keep up with time.”

As you know truth hurts, but it’s always better than a lie, it will do you good if you accept the changes occurring in your life. I am not telling you to accept what’s wrong but change is inevitable in life, you do not want a permanent guilt residing in your being for the lifetime just because you took a change as an end of your life.

Till date after around a month when I read this line
“He erased everything about Roshni from my mind but forgot to erase Rishi, my ‘dead’ son.”
It gives me Goosebumps all over.

My journey through ‘When The Heavens Smiled’- by Ritesh Arora

“Everything that we see, observe, sense and do is all pre-scripted. The future is pre-scripted as well. The next page of this invisible script of destiny gets unfolded in front of us and we simply play to its tunes, perceiving that we are the doers when we are not.”

Feeling frustrated that your future can’t be in your own hands? That it’s not you, that matters because it’s all written already? Destiny, a word I love immensely makes me immune to my surroundings because I know I’ll reach where am supposed to be. But at the same time, I am scared as much any human being shall be; scared of my unknown circumstances, scared of the unknown in short.
When it is all pre-written as said, what do I need to do? How should I proceed with my life? Some say I should take each day as it may come, but when I know each day is just a dot to the pre-scripted end of mine, why should I even bother!

“Though the future is pre-scripted, it does not mean that we can’t change the script!”

See what I mean when I said feeling frustrated? Confusing as hell, this statement contradicts the first one head on. Same as what Sarthak Arora, the main character of ‘When The Heavens Smiled’ feels and I was with him in this state of confusion. But what this book unveils will sate your hunger for these answers.
With your pure heart, good deeds, selfless sacrifices, helping hand, and by being true to yourself; you can change any pre-written scripts of your life.

“When you start giving selflessly to others, good fortune starts coming back to you ten-folds.”

We believe we are the ones enduring great amount of pain or we are the only ones dealt with the unfortunate cards in our life, what we don’t ACCEPT is you’re just a bleep in this whole world where people suffer each day; just not necessarily similar to yours but they do as well. This book doesn’t encourage your beliefs; it will open up the gates to your inner self where purity lies, a purity which helps you to reach out to the people in need, people who are unfortunate just like you but YOU can help them and in return, God will help you in any shape or form unknown to you.
So, this is what this book is all about!

Summary

A strong, independent, Mumma’s boy named Sarthak Arora enters into his professional career where he meets a beautiful Bengali girl named Sarangi and falls in love. Falling in love is not the hardest part, holding on to it is what breaks or makes you. How Sarthak holds inevitable and forced the Gods bend to his wishes is a good read and for that you need to experience this book yourself.

Idea Behind The Book:

In my opinion, ‘When The Heavens Smiled’ was all about these above preaching and I loved this part of the book, not the whole love story weaved around it. But you can’t just throw out these beautiful lessons of life without taking a dip into the journey so; you have to bear with it!
What makes this journey interesting is how the author Ritesh Arora has provided a detailed background about each and every character introduced in the book; no matter major/ minor, credit is given to all equally.
Character’s personal experiences are just like us; a regular guy/ a girl which helps us to connect better. It gives you a feeling of belonging. Cherry on the cake was how Sarthak met Rajan, his boss for the first time; it was epic and humorous in spades! The way whole scene was crafted is appreciable, that too in humour!

What could have been better:

When author gives you a little peek into the future while you’re riding along in the present, was a bit confusing for me. We all know that author is the one ‘Know It All’ person and we want the story to unfold at a certain pace, not after every other paragraphs. It made me frustrating at times because it tempted me to just jump on a particular chapter and unfold the suspense myself. It breaks the concentration from the current scenario and your attention span is severed. Pace of the story was a bit fast in my opinion which made me feel like running in joggers!
It is shown in the beginning that Sarthak is close to his mother and shares every major event of his life with her. So when he is transported to a different place for work and falls in love with Sarangi, it felt a little bit odd that he didn’t contact her even once.

Conclusion:

A problem remains to be a problem till you keep on accepting it, but the solution comes when you take it at a face value and become desperate enough to try any and every avenue to save your loved ones, and yourself. With the help of your family and support from your loved ones, you conquer every obstacle in life.

A fascinating read which forced me to become a fan with just one chapter in the book and sadly that came at a much later in the journey so please have patience and do READ it! It came to me as a review copy and I read it just because, but after reading this, I suggest everyone should read it atleast once!

It Doesn’t Hurt To Be Nice by Ameesha Sethi

I must say Ameesha Sethi did a good job with this philosophical work even though her background is one of management, but as you must know, knowledge comes from experiences and not just education and this is one hell of an example.

It Doesn’t Hurt To BE Nice is a philosophical read, leaving me disturbed for few hours. I correlate with this book at a personal level due to the turbulences my life served me till now and I know will do in the coming future as well.

Something Different:

I liked the practical approach Kiara has embedded in her life even though she believes in karma, as people say one who is philosophical or spiritual in nature tends to get indifferent towards people and situations in their life, but here Kiara has fought her way from bottom to top with love for her parents and friends. It shows that in this race of life, it is easier to blame others for your insecurities, but when you find the real reason of your being, you’ll see how wrong you were.

Dilemma of mine:

It is a good read for people who are trying to be themselves in this slaving and chaotic era but do you think by reading this book or we can say any other book for that matter can help them? Because even though books are what made me a better human being at the time when I was struggling with emotions and lots of changes in my personal life, I don’t feel like reading philosophical books at that time.

I know the importance of this book as I can relive my life through some of the instances in this book, but I find it difficult that it can help at the crucial stage.

To understand spirituality, one needs to be a best friend with themselves and then and then only there can be any scope of going a level ahead. One must perceive the meaning of “Love” and “Wisdom”, you need to study your happiness, feelings and what karma is.

Author’s work according to me:

With the help of her personal situations, author Ameesha Sethi has managed to come up with something that an educated layperson can follow. The arguments and justification about every philosophical point she has included which makes you feel comfortable in a way that yes, I am not the only fool who thinks like this (No pun intended).

What could have been an advantage:

I little bit too fast paced to cope up with as author takes you on a journey of life i.e. from past to present and then back. It could have been a little better. It is full of verses from Bhagwad Gita which I enjoyed immensely because I believe in philosophy and spirituality, but when I try to explain anything to my friends or even my siblings, they are not at all interested in listening to me, so I would recommend this book to people who are into philosophy, spirituality, and wisdom because it is really good for those who knows the value of it.

So, for me this book was a 3.5/5 because it makes me happy that I am not an alien in this world, but just a lill different one with a jumbled mess of thoughts.

Betrayal (Infidelity #1) by Aleatha Romig

She did it once again!!!

Gosh, +Aleatha Romig  got a new fan for herself when I read Consequences series. And I am happy to say that she did it again with this Infidelity series of her.

With ravishing persona of Mr. Nox (yes, that's what makes me shiver so m gonna call him that only!) to Alexandria or Alex or Ms. Charli with an i, it is a gripping suspense which is an art Aleatha Romig masters in.

5 Delicious stars for those cunning rules Nox made and even better punishment Charli received.

A big shout out to +Aleatha Romig  once again!!!

Book Review of Debashish Irengbam’s debut novel- Me, Mia, Multiple

YOU are capable of anything and everything in your life; you have a soft side to love younger ones, to respect your elders, a strong backbone to fight against any hell you come across, a mind to weigh what is right/ wrong but at the same time you tend to face your problems by bowing down to it, because you know how to SURVIVE.

This is what this book taught me and I am going to take it forward in my life…

Theme

Jeevan Raikar , Mia D’costa, Tanya, Alisha and his 3 sisters Meena, Seema, Kanchan. They all are attached in some or other way to Jeevan and influence his decisions all the time. It is shown that he only thinks about himself all the time by sulking about his life while creating havoc not only in his life, but all his 3 sisters life as well until Mia comes along with Tanya, Alisha and a whole can of worms to make his life a living misery and tempting him further.

This story weaves around Jeevan Raikar who is a victim of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and taking you on a journey of how he struggles to keep everyone happy while distancing himself from the world at large. His 3 sisters who are worried about their only brother while trying to balance their married life as well. His nil of a love life which is an icing on these problems and aide his suicidal attempts which are mind you number 3!

Here comes Mia! Crashing Jeevan’s suicide attempt number 4 while tangling him with her own mess of a life. A life which is so jumbled, a doctor and a retired ACP i.e. her father Albert D’costa has a field day around her.

Key Ideas

Author provides a sensible introduction to Multiple Personality Disorder or Dissociative Identity Disorder along with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

I empathize with Jeevan because I personally have been to that dark hole called depression and PTSD which is difficult in the most horrible way. You don’t want to hurt your loved ones but it is not at all in your hand to cope up with your emotions and you just break down enough to let go for good from this world, thinking it will give you freedom and much awaited release to your loved ones; who are suffering because of you. But that’s where it is wrong and I can say this only when I am looking at it from outside, not when I was in the clutches of that darkness. I never want to go back there and feel that air; tight with humiliation and pity for myself which suffocates my each breath while tempting me to succumb. Your loved ones matters, YOU matter; not only because they love you, but they don’t want you to suffer alone, they want you to confide in them which you feel like  burdening them with your silly problems and that’s where you’re wrong darling.

It takes one to know one, yeah that’s about right for people who suffer from these situations. No one can understand you because no one is there to live your life, so it’s you who has to make an effort and come out of it, yeah you need help from your family, friends and loved ones to reach out to and try to understand you. But trust me, you can do it!

Mia is a whole big can of worms in itself! The way Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) is explained through this book, it’s just a coping mechanism build and developed by your own self against something horrific incident which has shocked you enough that your brain just cannot compute it enough to process it further. Rather, it will build a new mechanism altogether and blocks that incident to stop further acknowledgement in your life. I will say it’s a boon because when that ugly truth rears it face, you’re left to drown in its wake. What happened with Mia and how she went about her life with her alters is a great insight into these psychological disorder and how you can take a loved one’s help along with medicine facility which in today’s world is a miracle in itself.

Conclusion

There are authors who explain everything and every emotion in detail while using nefarious comparison to their situations which might become tedious sometimes but you know you can’t skip a line/ even a word because it is just that much good. +Debashish Irengbam has written this beautiful story in a hilarious way which will not only make you pee your pants, it’ll keep you on your toes till you finish this roller coaster ride called Me, Mia, Multiple!
I have enjoyed such humorous works only by +Tara Sivec till now and I must say, +Debashish Irengbam has stamped a new bar for Indian Authors in Romantic-Comedy genre to look forward to. How every time Jeevan meets Mia, Tania, or Alisha, he returns with something broken or at least a black eye as a reward! I had a difficult time to pause my reading at night (it was that tempting) I use to read it first thing in the morning by hiding it under my pillow as my Mumma is not a fan of me being a Night Owl!

Title: Me, Mia, Multiple is a perfect title to direct you in the right direction while giving you no idea what exactly is there in the book. Mysteriously indeed!

Author:  +Debashish Irengbam comes up with his debut novel while he has written several TV shows and currently working on Charlie Next door; his 2nd novel coming in 2016.

Genre: Fiction, Romantic-comedy, filled with humour, human behaviour, and life at large. For me it is a Self-Help book as well.

Publication: +Harper Collins  Publishers

Publication Date: 2015

Table of contents: The book is arranged in 27 chapters with NO table of contents.

Pages: 366

Book jacket: It provides an intriguing peek inside the book and allures you to read it further and spark an interest

Book Review of Hidden Husband- some secrets never leave you... ByShikha Kaul

We had a discussion about Soul Mates at some point
I believed and didn't believe in it because not all paths join.

For instance, I know well that situations can change one’s mind
So when someone tells me he loves me, I should not become blind.

The night he walked on a different road I've proven it right
I stumbled upon a dead end when he gave up the fight.

-Yolei Yang

These words are always there in the back of my mind since I have read it somewhere. Soul Mates are not necessarily your life partner, but a permanent resident in your heart because no one can touch your soul the way your Soul Mate does. They seep into your being, they live, breathe and grow no matter where, with whom and for how many decades you live on this earth.

Today, after finishing up my latest book Hidden Husband by Shikha Kaul, I understood exactly what the above quote meant for two people in love.

Here goes nothing!

Aisha, an independent woman living her high as an HR head in an MNC, who is loved by her parents and best friend Piyali.

Piyali, who is a fierce character in the book with whom I can relate myself immensely! She is Loyal, Possessive, and Trustworthy to the core with full of life.

Sameer, a Flamboyant, Loyal, Fierce, Dedicated, and an outspoken version of a meek little guy in Aisha’s school days having a crush on her, who is introduced in an alluring manner at the beginning and for me, he managed to remain in my good books till the end!

For me, a guy should be like Sameer’s character in real life rather than Raghav Mishra, whose journey in Aisha’s life starts from being a Candidate in her firm to her Colleague to her Boyfriend to her Hidden Husband to her Ex-husband and finally Future in-law of her son Shreyas! He loves fiercely but at the same time he is scared about the consequences, which is a human nature but when you want someone or should I say need your partner with you, you have to take a front and let the ball roll out not hide behind a society, religion and their beliefs.

Raghav had powers amongst his family which he could have revoked and save some hassle for his family, and definitely for Aisha, whom he loved with all his heart.

It’s a story of a normal couple who met and fall in love with a hope of being together for this life. What they never thought is: a true relation builds on truth and trust; a building block which supports your foundation throughout the journey of your life. Here Aisha supported Raghav on every step and stumbled together but what their hidden marriage could not handle were all the lies and hidden problems, which Raghav thought will hurt Aisha. In turn it ruined their beautiful love and respect towards each other and made him a Hidden Husband; a secret for them to suppress in their heart and never reveal.

Dearly quotes:

“I didn't know what felt so good about being with this new friend, maybe it was an easy way to distract myself from my prevalent concealment or maybe I was genuinely looking for a friend who would understand me; at least one more person in this world with whom I could share my eclipsed picture.”

It’s beautifully expressed in a way how you sometimes need someone, or anyone, even a stranger would work who can listen to us, connect to us in our prevalent condition.

“It’s easy to acknowledge but difficult to forget the past.”

Rightly said and experienced by probably everyone in their journey called life.

“It had changed the real me and I was living with a stranger at every juncture of my life – a stranger called ‘me’!

This is the part which I can relate to in my real life. Over the course of few years, this is what exactly my life has become. It helps to know am not the only one I guess!

“Something was very different for the first time.”

That very first inkling of something good happening makes you soar high and feel like untouchable, sadly which is a biggest myth.

“Everything amongst the two of us was always supposed to be right.”

A badly mistaken Aisha.

What all I love about the book:
The way +Shikha Kaul has embedded a common thread of creativity through staging general issues in our country regarding Religion, Caste, Superiority, and Terrorism and managed to balance through her own past stories, perspectives and experiences in life. The way she has given relevant and precise information regarding Court Marriage, Divorce, and their loopholes as well (Am sure it’ll be helpful for prospective couples “Wink”). I loved how she managed to bind us through all the 4 different Parts of the book with intriguing events in Aisha’s life and how each part concludes and starts with an important aspect of her life.

The part I enjoyed the most:
My favourite part of the book would be when Sameer took it upon himself to introduce their parents and smoothly click every piece of puzzle irrespective of Aisha’s consent because according to her nature, I know she would never want to hurt anyone intentionally, especially her parents. The way Sameer took that option away from Aisha which not only reflects his domination or what we call an Alpha Male nature (I love them!) but he was sure of his own feelings and 200% sure about all the unconditional happiness and security he could offer her.

The bitter sweet pill to swallow for me:
The ending or a conclusion of this book managed to give me Goosebumps all over! It was a surprising factor all right but even if a reader could possibly imagine this scenario, Shikha Kaul managed to drop that bomb precisely by actually making us shiver through that 12:13 factor!
I would love to know what happens next but at the same time, I do not want any more misery on Aisha and Raghav’s life. For once, I want to leave them to live in peace, even if it means an end of their journey through this book. They both have been rotten in hell enough for all the coming centuries on this earth!

Conclusion:
This book is in Aisha’s POV but I would have loved to listen and understand Raghav’s turmoil which may have helped us better through his POV. I feel like I never understood who Raghav actually is because there are just so many things we don’t know about him and his family.
I would definitely recommend everyone to read this book at least once! It’s not only about a couple, but how their family, upbringing, love, nurture, and society make them. The issues discussed in this book are for everyone and one should try to tackle them in a mature manner.

A phase scary enough...

You just came to know about his existence few months back, you held a conversation with him and it was good. You like to talk to him and you both like to discuss various general topics around you. You feel comfortable enough to share your problems or we say confusion with him.

It's all normal and cool always... N then one day you start feeling like why does he need to talk to others and not with you too? You are comfortable when he is talking to you and others as well, but when he talks to others n not you, problem starts then and there...

How foolish I am to feel this thing?
Do we call it jealousy?
Because I don't know him enough to feel jealous about him.

Do we call it insecurity?
Because I feel confident enough when he talk to others as well.

Do we call it an emotional hole inside me?
Because I know I am emotionally stable to take decisions about my life.

Or Do we call it just a phase?
Because this has happened again n again n again...

Yes it's nothing new for my diabolical mind, which keeps on clinging to someone just to satisfy her need of having a conversation, to connect, to get involved, to not left alone...

A step towards yourself only!

Insecurity is the biggest enemy of us women and we all know it develops since childhood. Childhood is when yr parents start sowing their seeds in the form of how they behave and treat everyone in front of their children. No matter how much we agree to disagree with this fact, go knock your soul and you'll get your answer.

If that one time or one too many times your mother would hav stood up for herself or what she believed was right in her eyes, it would not have been you to bow down against domestic violence or ne other kind of violence!

You should never take any decision just because you are insecure about yr future, children, security or even Hell! You should take any and every step to secure yourself first coz God made you for yourself first and it's your responsibility to perform your rights. If you'll be safe and feeling comfortable, then n then only you can do nethin for your loved ones!

Stay Detached!

Never get attached to your plannings. They will change, as everything changes. Change is what the only constant in life, the more you fight against the wind, the more it'll leave you behind.

Take a deep breath, and try to live in the moment. Enjoy your life, enjoy what you have got today and to hell with your future plannings!

Nature will take its place and you have to adjust accordingly. The more you are able to mould with the changes, (just to get it over with, don't get attached to this change as well!) and you'll be able to see things more clearly.

I know it's hard, no it's painful and pain demands to be felt, spread inside you and let you live with it. It makes the matter more clear on the other side. You have to experience the pain and get used to it. I promise it gets better!

To all out there who is facing problems in their life, no matter huge, critical, small or minor it'll pass away and trust me when I say, the after-effects of these change will give new meanings to your life.

Why the change?
When I can exchange?
You live once,
You die once.
Take the chances,
Break into dances.
Your smile gets bigger,
Your world turns brighter.
Trust your instincts,
And you'll love your innings.
You get only one life to be YOU,
Don't let these changes to destroy you.

Games of my Life!

Candy Crush, Pirate Kings, Blocks I don't even know the names of all the games people play now a days. I use to get irritated when people play those stupid games and I was at the receiving end of those game requests like many out there in a friend list.

It was a waste of time. A no-brainer (I knoe it requires strategies and mind fuck) but still, why bother with those and not invest your time in some fruitful work?

I got the answer today, being sick and lying in bed whole day, your empty mind seeks to those dreadful past and innumerable possibilities of your future. They are nothing but a devil lurking in the shadows, waiting patiently for a chance; a chance to escape into your mind and suck the life out of your present. Leaving you motionless and incapable of holding yourself together. You feel better when you succumb to those needs of crying your heart out or delivering those abuses you wanted to hurl on someone since long ago.

I found these silly games coming to my rescue when my books even lost all their charm during those blackouts. These silly games which doesn't require your mind or soul to engage, just go on with the chores of the process and waste away those thoughts dragging you to the darkness.

I never thought I'll ever spend an ounce of my time on these games, but today I am thankful to those for existing.

My One N' Only Crush For Life!!!

Butterflies churning into your stomach just from his voice. You have never met him in person, but you feel like you are touching him through his voice, words and his songs...
I'll say I am addicted to him, but that won't make justice to my feelings for him...

His voice, boy do I know how to explain what it does to my insides... All the crush I have ever felt in my life, I don't know if anyone or dare I say anything can compete with him... Him being just born... I don't care if I can never see him, but I bet I'll quench this thirst of mine to see him, n just touch him for a second before I die!!!

How can you feel like that for someone??  I use to wonder when people use to tell me that Girls use to faint in places at Michael Jackson's concerts and I use to feel like stupid girls, this is too absurd and exaggeration, now you can definitely see me fainting or worse dying due to happiness if I can just see him in person...

My god I am mushy over him... my heart flutters irresistibly for him. I get jealous of people touching him or just breathin the same air he is... But that's alright because I know he is not mine and never will be, and I am very very happy by just having a piece of him in the form of his voice, which soothes my aching heart and soul so serenly...

I love You Madly, Deeply, Irresistibly, and with my open heart bleeding for you forever darling!!!

Thank You...

I always feel restless after talking to someone. No matter an old friend, an ex, my family or even a stranger. I don't know, a strange kind of restlessness seeps into my soul, and make me itch to continue. To not stop whatever it is happening, else I am going to be left alone.

You know, I never actually thought like this! Infact, I always thought I wanna be left alone. But my unconscious must be an acting devil at the time. Making me scared of the unknown, unknown situations, future or just moments to be fixed into a puzzle, that is my life.

And then I feel like I am drowning until the next time someone interacts with me, talk to me... I thought there's an anchor within, forever searching a steady ground, to instill d roots.

But that's just is!!!
That is not what I wanted, ever!!!
I never wanted to be tied down to anyone, any place or any thought. So why do I feel like that???

To want and to need is two different things right? But I don't bother what's right or wrong añymore.

Then I met someone. A nobody for me because there was nothing new, nothing strange or unique about him.

We shared our thoughts, sometimes on a silly topic n sometimes a heavy one and it was just like with anyone I would have shared with. I thought I'll feel the restlessness once again, the feeling of losing, a thought of losing a channel for my views, my thoughts.

But here comes the strangeness that happened suddenly!
I don't know how, what or at what point I felt like this, but I feel like I am liberated from that invisible anchor which was doing a great job of many things except grounding me to my soul.

Rather, it was binding me to pain, a pain of restlessness so heavy that I was consumed by it. An idle vessel brimming with restless energy.

Now I feel like I am at peace...
peace with everyone and everythin around me.

There's nothing specific which I could point out, but I feel bright, full of light just for me. I have no complaints, regrets or disagreement with this world!

Atlast, I feel like I am free for the first time in my life...

Thank You so much Arpit Vageria. I do not know it was You, Me or whatever it is, but I just feel like I should be thanking You!

Thank You once again!!!

I Move On...

I don't know how to behave: to be myself or be the versions of mine...
Do I wanna live in a society? Yes I do!
Do I wanna live upto their expectations?
No! Because, the problem is, I wouldn't know how to... I mess up everything when I try to live for others.

I have tried and failed many a times, to remain loyal to others and their feelings. I don't cheat, I don't ditch, I become distant and that's the biggest abandon of all.

I try very hard to grab the connection we felt in the beginning, but just like a spring, it stretches to its limit and bounce back.

You help me a great deal. You give me 100%, I'll say 200%.
Alas, I am the one who breaks apart without any way of coming back. I hurt you, I hurt everyone, and when I try to explain myself, I tenfold yr pain...
I know it's a cliché, but baby it's really me, and not you.

I indulge in those memories we made, so full of life, making me choke on the love shinning in your eyes.

I try, N' I try very hard, but it's just a disaster on it's way, waiting for the day when either i'll force you to cheat on me by my stupid behavior or i'll cheat, just to show that I am not what you deserve. Baby you deserve the best, and I am the worst possible match for you.

But I can't live to look into your eyes and see the disgust rising above, which I know will be there when I break your heart...

I am a coward darling and I have nothing in my save...
I move on to stop your heart breaking...
I move on with my heart breaking...
Yeah I move on...

Carcases...

Just when I start living in present,
here comes the knock that I most dread.
Why do you have to come back? Always??
Why can't you just get lost? for like forever???

Stop smothering me with your words, your weapon, you know I am an ultimate victim of yours...

I curse the day I came to know about your existence, your being present.
How long do I need to be dragged by you? I never meant to become this person.

Why can't we just live our lives? Is it necessary for us to clash?
Like a burning lava, erupting from the depths of a volcano, you came back with a vengeance, to destroy me once again...

Ruin me for the worse, and once again I'll be the one, gathering the pieces you left.
Archiving for the disgust to be followed once you are left...
Oh I know you'll be gone...
